The roots of Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH go back almost five decades to 1975, when Heckler & Koch GmbH developed the first in-line drills, high-precision surface grinders and special machines. SW is today, a leading global partner for complete production solutions and approx. 1400 employees.

Since the new company SW was founded for approx. 25 years ago a lot has happened. From being pure vertical machines, SW switched to, with one exception, only building horizontal machines. Today, the machines are built with 1, 2, 3 and 4 milling spindles and only horizontal. All machines are optionally available with up to 5 axes and up to 280 tool slots in the chain.

SW also has a range of machines with linear drives on all axes for non-magnetic materials. These machines have a rapid traverse / feed of up to 120 m / min. In many cases, SW provides solutions as turnkey, most often with complete automation over our own automation house SW Automation.

SW currently has 3 production locations located in German Waldmössingen, in China and in the USA. All factories are currently being expanded. The celebration of the anniversary takes place D. 14 to D. 16/7 in Waldmössingen.
