KP Components, which is one of Denmark's largest subcontractors of complex machining with factories in both Denmark, the USA and Sweden, has now invested in a SW cell as a Turnkey project.
The cell is currently delivered with three SW BA W06-22 machines, but is prepared for the fourth machine. All machines are equipped with linear motors. The change from a machine with ball spindle to linear motor is ideal for non-magnetic work pieces, and results in a reduction of the stroke time of approx. 30%. All machines are automated with SW Automation, which in this case consists of SW’s TopRob with two robots and a third robot which serves finished work pieces as well as blowing and a DMC marking. The robots operate approx. 2.5 above the floor, which allows unobstructed monitoring of the machines during operation.
The cell also contains two SW Storage Towers for raw and finished work pieces, respectively. These subject towers have a height of 7.9 m and 6.9 m. The entire facility is supplied as a turnkey in close collaboration with a highly qualified technician Team from KPC.
The first machines have been approved by KPC at SW in Waldmössingen (Headquarter Germany) and are now on their way to KPC in the USA.
